Proximo to work with Food Bank for NYC

08 May 2008

Proximo Consulting Services is proud to have been selected as a vendor by the Food Bank for New York City to design and implement its latest software project. Key to the Food Bank's operation is the need for its staff to collect data in the field while disconnected from the Food Bank network. Proximo will design and develop the data capture interface to run on tablet PCs used by the field staff while 'off-line'. Once a remote user connects to the network, Proximo's software will synchronize the data on the tablet PC to a centralized database architected by Proximo to insure data integrity. The new system will eliminate dozens of paper forms currently filled out by hand by the field staff. By structuring the data capture and allowing for automated data validation, less time will be spent on repetitive data entry and review, allowing for more precise data collection and reporting.

To date, the Food Bank has distributed more than 744 million pounds of food to more than 1,000 community and emergency food programs - including soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, Kids Cafes, low-income daycare centers, and senior, youth, rehabilitation and outreach centers - throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Proximo Consulting Services hopes to help them reach even more communities next year by implementing this system so time can be spent where it needs to be spent; helping feed NYC.
