Derek Premo has been with Proximo for five years, driven by a desire to combine his passion for data with strategic problem-solving to support the organization’s growth and impact.

He most enjoys collaborating with a globally distributed team, where diverse perspectives and experiences bring fresh energy and insight to the work. This dynamic environment continues to inspire innovation and thoughtful problem-solving.

Throughout his career, Derek is most proud of the people he has been able to support and develop. Whether working with colleagues, students, or others navigating challenges, he finds great fulfillment in helping others succeed and grow.

His greatest professional strength lies in his ability to match the right solution to any given challenge. As a devote systems-thinker, he enjoys breaking down complex problems and identifying practical, effective paths forward.

Outside of work, Derek enjoys staying active through working out and bowling, as well as cooking, gardening, and spending time walking his dog, Ellen. He also has a deep appreciation for a wide variety of foods and enjoys bringing dishes from different cultures together.

If given the opportunity, he would most like to see Madonna perform live—an iconic artist who continues to inspire.
